Read2Me finds a new home with Tacoma Community House Tacoma Community House has formally “adopted” the Read2Me program. Read2Me strives to enrich lives by inspiring people to volunteer and share in the joy of reading. Volunteers of Read2Me have a profound impact by spending 45 minutes a week reading to a child. Currently, Read2Me works with two Tacoma Elementary schools, McCarver and Roosevelt. Read2Me will be coordinated by Liz Savitz who has been with the program for the past 12 years. We are excited to “adopt” such a valuable program that nurtures lifelong learners in the communities we serve.
Tacoma Community House is proud to release our advocacy toolkit. We put together this toolkit not only to help bring clarity and understanding surrounding immigration in Washington State, but also to help you get to know the people whose lives are being directly impacted. We invite you to become an advocate for immigrants. View our Advocacy Toolkit.
